OOTP History Run Time Error

Hi,

I hope someone can help me with my problem. I started my solo league in 2003. I'm in 2005 now. I was able to successfully import data and create the pages for 2003 and 2004. However, now when I import data for 2005 I get a Run Time Error: -2147467259 (80004005) Field 'PostPitching.Team' cannot be a zero length string.

Has anyone else seen this run time error? If so how can I fix it?

Thanks for any help. I love this utility, I just hope I can get it working again.

Edit: I forgot to mention, the date of the league is December 15, 2005 but when I go to the schedule screen it pulls up October 31, 2005. I simmed a couple days and in the corner it says December 17, 2005 but the schedule screen pulls up November 2, 2005.

This does not sound normal at all: Edit: I forgot to mention, the date of the league is December 15, 2005 but when I go to the schedule screen it pulls up October 31, 2005. I simmed a couple days and in the corner it says December 17, 2005 but the schedule screen pulls up November 2, 2005.

Is there a problem with the league like corruption? Is the proceed to next year button displaying? OOTP History is requiring some post season pitching info for a team and it is getting a blank and that's why it is pooping out. If the league file was corrupted it could do this so that is the 1st thing I would check for. It sounds like the playoff scedule got messed up here - let us know if any of this makes sense.

Thanks for the reply. The proceed to next year button does appear. I have not noticed any corruption with the file. My season ran fine. Never had any problems. Unfortunately I don't have my backup for before the preseason anymore. When the proceed to next season button appeared I backed it up again and overwrote the file thinking everything was OK. This was before I tried to run OOTP History.

Maybe it's okay, don't want to scare you, that just sounds very unusual, like something in the postseason got messed up. The OOTP History error is related to the post season too. Maybe some more info is required here, I'm not sure I understand what is going on with your league. In the meantime, here are some thoughts which may apply to this situation:
- I think the game should not be open when you do the CSV exports, I have not tried it any way, if you did that with the league loaded then maybe try to redo the CSV export thing.
- There is a likely problem with a playoff teams pitching stats that is causing this error, check out the html for anything unusual, like a team making the playoff but not playing any games.

Not sure what else to say at this point, with more info maybe someone else has some idea's. The info needed would be the size of the leagues, and type of playoff structure. Did you do any schedule or league/playoff structure changes during the current season? Did the season end with a series winner?

I'll try to give as much information as I can think of.

I did my CSVs after I closed out OOTP. I got my error with the History program so I went back and re-exported everything.

I was checking out the Pitching CSV and checked all the lines listed as POST but nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary there. I made sure every pitcher that had POST had at least a 1 in the Game column. I'm not at home right now so later when I get home I'll have to look at the HTML reports and see if there are any weird things reported.

As for the league structure I made no changes to it. There was a league winner...Atlanta beat me 4-3 in the World Series and the standings page displays the correct standings and playoff brackets. As for the schedule I did make changes to the schedule but I made sure I did them before the season started. I used Stickware.

That's all I can think of right now. If there is any other information needed let me know and I'll do my best.

I forgot to mention, in the League CSV it says the day is 302 or something like that but the date listed is 12/15/2005. I don't know if this would work this way but would it make a difference if I changed the number to whatever day number 12/15/2005 would be? Also all my diary entries are updated and the latest ones say 12/15/2005.

Ok a little more information. I've checked out the league history report and it's a little strange. The general history shows the standings and leaders for my 2004 season but the 2005 recap is correct. If I find anything else odd I'll post it.

Just to update those who might be interested in this problem, I went and edited the lhistory.txt file to represent the correct standings and now I was able to import the data on Cato's utility and create the pages for 2005.

That is a very strange error but a big thumbs up to you for posting your solution, this one was frustrating! Any idea how that OOTP5-created HTML page got messed up?

Not a clue. It was very weird. The standings and leaderboard section of the history was stuck on last season but the golden glove section was for the currect season. I've just started a new season and I'm going to pay close attention to what day is shown on the schedule when I get done with the playoffs. Maybe the schedule showing something different than that of what the program was showing had something to do with it.
