Mr. Cobb is just a Germanophile. Oyster is Auster in German, which is pronounced exactly like Ouster.

Actually, I fear I may have done him an injustice. It occurred to me in the shower this morning, thinking about this (no comments on my quality of life, please), that he may have in fact been indulging in a masterstroke of subtlety.

"Ouster" in English means, among other things, "The act of ejecting someone or forcing him out." Did he indeed purposefully substitute "Ouster" for "Oyster" in his thread title as a humorous reflection of his "You're fired" post?

If so, Ty Cobb is officially rehired as an honored forum member. However, Cobb, the team GM, remains fired for his stadium sign gaffe.
