Estimated salary demand

The new estimated salary demand column is a bit confusing to me. See the attached photos from my upcoming free agents screen:

- for Zacha, why show an estimate and not the actual demand that shows in the negotiation screen?

- I don't get what "Leading offer" is supposed to mean. My best guess is for UFA it means they'll take the best offer, but all except 1 on this screen with that column are RFAs

Have you already made an offer to the ones with "Leading Offer"? Because I understood it as it meaning that the amount currently offered by me is the best offer the player received so far, as I have only seen this tag on the players to whom I made an offer.

It's not that. I've seen it on players I haven't made an offer to yet.

I've also been taking it to mean they'll take the best offer they get.

I kind of agree on the Zacha one, I'm not sure if it's deliberately left 'inaccurate' in a bid to allow some obscurity to it, so there's still an element of "the player doesn't just get to know everything". I'd assume there must be a bandwidth the value will fall between but maybe that could do with being tightened up to ~1m. As you've noticed it can become a little redundant otherwise if it's a larger difference.

I found out you can get to another team's "Upcoming free agents" and it'll show that column, so maybe that was the intention? If the player is on your team you can just enter negotiations and get the real ask, so seeing this number as an opposing GM makes way more sense.



Although it doesn't show on the league's upcoming FAs page, nor in the trade screens, team roster, etc. which are way more convenient places to put this column, rather than having to dig into the team's upcoming FA page.

Yeah having it added to more screens would certainly be a great QOL. As you say too, if it was more accurate for your own team and less clear perhaps when looking at players not on your team then that would give it an increased element of realism.

Maybe the devs will consider that if they see this thread

Had a player show estimated demand of 775k, but in negotiations was asking for 6m. It would be much more useful to be able to sort my pending FA's by actual ask.

That level of difference is probably worth reporting as a bug in the tech support forum because surely it's unintended
