Organization Rankings

Just curious if it's just my universe or not, but other than the champion, are the rankings the same for each organization? Like the WBC , IBF, WBA, WBO etc. do not differentiate at all from each other in their rankings

Hmmm. Interesting. I did add a new organization named after my universe. But all the rankings are the same. Not a huge deal but just wondering if somehow the ranking algorithm got affected because of it

In my universes, each organization has ranked fighters differently.

That is so weird then. Just curious, do you check the box "Rank foreign champions" or leave it unchecked? I have it checked so wondering if I should uncheck it

I just looked at the game and didn't see a "rank foreign champions" box. Maybe I missed it, or maybe we are comparing different versions of TBCB? I have version 2.5.

For what it's worth, I seem to remember that before a particular patch there were big differences in rankings between organizations. After the patch the differences were not so much.

At that point I stopped paying any attention to organizations other than my fictional Global Boxing Authority. It became less fun to have "unification" title fights when there was so little difference between organizations.

That must be the difference. I use TBCB 2013. I dont have all the issues everyone else seems to have with it. I created my own Boxing Organization like you did. But as my univese continues to expand I thought it might be fun to have different champions. It's not a big deal though and I could still do that as what makes this game great is you can do whatever you want in your individual universe. But whatever algorithm they use in 2013 for rankings obviously doesnt differentiate rankings in the various organizations

That explains it, then. Yeah, I gave up on TBCB 2013 very early. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Have there been any updates to 2013 in recent years? In the beginning, a bunch of people (including me) had problems with it--crashes, strange fight results, fighter records that wouldn't update after bouts, etc. And it seemed that the designer did not take our concerns seriously.

Is the current version of 2013 better than it was back in the day?

I am about to buy a new computer, so I have begun to get excited about reviving some of my old TBCB universes that I have on CD. I will have to unlicense version 2.5 on my current computer, and move the game to the new computer.

But I've been reading the unlicense-relicense parts of the forum and have been feeling some anxiety over that process. If I can't move my license I'm willing to buy 2.5 again. But if it's no longer available I will have to buy 2013, I guess.

I am about to buy a new computer, so I have begun to get excited about reviving some of my old TBCB universes that I have on CD. I will have to unlicense version 2.5 on my current computer, and move the game to the new computer.

There have been no recent updates to 2013 as far as I know. I have version 1.4 which is the latest version with whatever patches Paul did. But after I had to buy a new computer years ago I switched to 2013 because of the 2.5 license issue. I havent had any problems with 2013 as far as anything you mentioned. The only issue I had was too many fights getting stopped on cuts but I had that issue with 2.5 as well. I just adjusted every fighters cut rating and that seemed to help. I also sim fights one at a time (dont do the fight card option) and I manually update and add fighters from the forum or database. I only do that because when I update from the game all my fighters lose their assigned trainers/ cutmen. (I cant remember if I had that issue with 2.5). I know a lot of people have issues with 2013 so maybe I'm just lucky

Do you watch each fight, or only get a quick result without watching?

Have you ever done fight cards with 2013? For me, fight cards (and "betting" on fights) have always been one of the most enjoyable parts of TBCB.

i bought 2013 a long, long time ago. Paid something like $10. But it was so flawed that when I bought a new computer I didn't even bother to transfer the license.

Maybe I'm not being fair to Paul, but I got the impression back then that he really doesn't care about boxing and was not very interested in keeping TBCB going.

I watch each fight. It's why I love the game. Yeah I can quick sim them, but that's no fun to me. I've done a few fight cards. "Betting" on the fights never appealed to me. Nor did having fighters age. All the fighters in my universe stay at "Prime". I want to know who is the best fighters at their peak

From what I understand, he just never had the time as OOTP baseball took up most of it

I mostly play fictional universes, with aging. I sometimes auto-sim a large number of fights just to keep things moving, but cards are the most fun.

I have a couple historical universes on CD, and will move them to my new computer if I can get my license transferred.

Do you know if you can import a TBCB 2.5 universe to TBCB 2013?

I looked at Paul's website. It didn't seem like much is going on there. The news section hasn't been updated in a while.

If the game (2013) is still available for sale, do you know if it is the latest patched version?

Thats the beauty of this game, you can tailor your universe to suit your needs and preferences.

I imported my TBCB 2.5 universe to TBCB 2013. The latest version is 1.4. I believe you can still get it here: https://www.pisd.co.uk/cgi-bin/webst...?1,,showapp,13

You may still be able to buy 2.5 as well but someone else on the forum might have to direct you where that link is

I dont think Paul is working on the game anymore. Maybe someone else in the forum has more knowledge on that than I do, but I gave up on him finishing TBCB 3 a long time ago

I am reliably informed by a former employee of OOTP that the rights to Title Bout 2.5 were sold to PISD and Paul Norman so it would appear that Title Bout 2.5 is truly dead unless someone buys the rights from their current owner. It'll take someone with deep pockets to create a boxing sim even remotely as good as Title Bout 2.5.

R.I.P. TB2.5
