Hey there, for years I've been trying to create leagues where the rosters were stocked with local players, but never quite achieving it - for example, I'll create a team in NYC, set the team region to "New York State" and then limit the number of foreign players to zero. In the same league, I'll have a team in Cincinnati, set the team region to "Ohio" and so on. You get the idea.
The flaw with this method is that the New York City team will have players from Buffalo NY (370 miles away) but no players from say, Jersey City right across the river. Cincinnati will have players from Cleveland all the way across the state, and nobody from nearby Kentucky or Indiana. I know via owner goals that there is some method of determining if a player is "local" - i.e. their city of birth is geographically close to the city the team is in. It would be great if you could set it so rosters only allowed local players - or even better have the option to set roster rules like "must have 2 local players on roster" etc. This would be especially useful for fictional highschool and college leagues. Just a thought. Appreciate any feedback anyone may have. And let me know if there's already a way to achieve this that I'm not aware of! |

Still hoping in the future there is some way to automatically limit rosters based on geographic distance from a city. |
