Decreasing budgets (-33% over 10-15 years)
Hello,
this is something I noticed after some change made in either FHM9 or 10 (don't remember exactly). There was an issue with budget bloat and there was a change made to the economy. However, the result was a huge over-correction. Around the 10-15 year mark, most leagues are 30% or more down, and others are close to crossing this mark. You can see the budgets from one of my current saves in the attached screencaps. And yeah, I am comparing pre-budget selection and post budget-selection values, but in order for a whole league to go 10+% out of whack either way, you would basically need all of the teams to pick the same exact top or bottom option (which by itself would be pretty bad), and the differences are in most cases more than 30% which you cannot, at least to the best of my knowledge, cause simply by changing the annual budget. Also, I guess some of the 'League Notes' average budgets have not been updated in a bit ![]() Anyways, this does not damage AI teams that much, because they can get whatever player they want for whatever chump change they have left - but that's a different thing and I want to focus specifically on the wage budgets themselves: - it looks stupid and breaks immersion - in latter years, it makes taking over a team in most leagues either stupidly hard or outright impossible as you can't really build a good roster - it makes the favorable contracts the AI is able to sign all the more obvious and thus even more annoying I have no idea how the economy engine is set up - obviously - so no suggestions on what to change, but the results are a bit silly ![]() Also, some leagues are just fine, or still actually grow a bit, so it's not ALL of them that lose budget, just MOST, unfortunately. If you want me to upload the save I used to create the table, let me know, but I'm pretty confident you can just sim any game for 10-15 years and the results will be pretty much the same... |

Yes, I also have noticed that. What I end up doing is increasing every teams budget a few million dollars every couple of years just to keep it normal.
