Good morning friends,
the launch of OOTP Go 25 is in the books, and as I am typing this, we're #1 in the sports gaming charts on iOS, and #12 in all games. That's incredible! In order to collect the initial feedback & suggestions, I figured it would make sense to have a single thread about this. But first off, let me say something about the price of the game, which is now $9.99. In the past couple of years, OOTP Go was a free download, but you had to pay $4.99 each for current MLB and KBO rosters. This was an experiment, we wanted to see if we'd convert some new users to avid PT players who'd offset the loss we'd generate by making the game free. Simple conclusion: It did not work, this model makes no economic sense for us, as OOTP is apparently simply too niche. So, we decided to go back to the premium app model. Now, in some threads some users voiced their disappointment about this, sometimes with ridiculous statements like "it sucks having to pay for this" which quite frankly make me pretty angry. Look, for less than 10 bucks you get a game which has 90% of the feature set of the desktop game, which costs five times as much. Plus, you get all the new engine and AI stuff, select other new desktop features and full Perfect Team cross-platform support. If you think "this sucks", then I urge you to take a minute and think this through. Heck, nowadays you don't even get a decent burger for $9.99, as sad as that is. Another thing, we often get asked for feature additions like commish mode or various advanced league options. But, those are intentionally desktop-only. If we'd include them in the mobile version, we would cannibalize our desktop sales and be out of business in a year. That can't be in your interest. Another option would be to add all desktop-exclusive features to OOTP Go (many modern phones would be able to handle this), and then price the game at $49.99. I don't believe this is in your interest either. Long story short, I truly believe OOTP Go 25 is a bargain at $9.99. You get the best baseball simulation on the planet, sporting the identical core features and 90% of the expanded feature set of the amazing desktop game. Still, if you have suggestions on how to improve the game, we'd love to hear them, of course ![]() Thank you all for your support and your patience! Markus & the OOTP Developments team

I always start whether desktop or the mobile version by just playing with settings and doing some quick sims before I start a save so I don't have much at this point. With that said a couple of things:
If there is a way, looking towards GO 26 that we can continue a save from 25 that would be nice add. Having played the mobile versions since iOOTP to MLB Manager to Go I am used to starting over but it would open a new way to decide how you play if you knew you can move the save to the next version. Any chance of getting historical transactions even without historical lineups? And the ability to use current stadiums in a historic save, which at your suggestion I moved to the bug forum I am going to chime in on the $9.99. Speaking for myself I think it's fair given the amount of hours I play the game and the depth it provides. Obviously everyone has the right to do what they want with their discretionary income so I am not being critical to those who object to the cost. If I was going to be critical I would ask why you paid for Flick Home Run ![]() |

Markus and Team,
PLEASE consider banning WarEagle61 from posting anything else to any of these threads and delete all of his/her posts. All he/she has done for 24 hours straight is post inflammatory comments in almost every single thread about the game. It’s gotten very tiresome very quickly. I am excited to see the initial dialogue about this game, which is THE best baseball sim on earth regardless of cost/changes/improvements that could be made. Having to weed through comments like the ones I’ve seen in multiple threads is not helpful, it’s not productive, and it’s not what I hope these boards are intended to be about. People have a right to their feelings and opinions and thoughts. But feeling justified in turning a public dialogue into a private and personal airing of your grievances, and doing it over and over and over and over again, is absolutely not acceptable. I don’t want to see it anymore. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Thank you for all the work you do every year on this game. |

Thank you for releasing the app. After messing with it for about a day the changes made have been really positive. I will say, for PT I wish there were more options for viewing different stats. The basics are there but viewing BABIP and HRA for pitchers would be really helpful as those stats are really important. Additionally, the ability to customize the team home page would be cool. I appreciate the release of new cards ticker but I would use that space for something else personally.
Again thanks for everything. Well worth the $10 as I only play mobile. If possible timing the release of the mobile and desktop version of the game to be the same timeframe would be lovely and I would offer anything I can do as a mobile player to help with that. |

Markus, I appreciate the comments at the top of this thread and it all makes a lot of sense. The part that was missing is, “Admittedly, we could have messaged this change in our pricing model better.” Other than the one poster, virtually all other critical comments were about the surprise, not the price itself.

People aren’t so much mad about the price, it’s the fact it wasn’t communicated ONCE during the entire process. All we were told was “it’s coming, be patient”, so everyone thought it would be free like it’s always been. I would be willing to bet a majority of the people who downloaded GO last year were PT players who just used the app to check their PT teams. Now that that’s paywalled most F2P PT players will just quit.

Hello,
I get it now and see nothing wrong with it but it still says OOTP Go is free on your other page. You may want to change that because that is the part that confused me. https://www.ootpdevelopments.com/newsletters/nl0305/ Thank you! |

2D/Text-only mode please
This has been voiced by several of us since the 1st installment of GO.
I don't need graphics, and I miss the simple play by play of the PC version. |

I will pay an extra $10 if you let me change the new blue/yellow font colour to something more neutral, I feel like I'm being forced into playing as the Brewers.

I really like the new stealing aggressiveness attribute.
The control over player development is also very intriguing, but I'm still testing this out. Curious to see how much impact it will have |

yeah that's the point maybe. that's what I want to say in other post. that was not about price tho.. Anyway we all know you never lie to us, but that doesn't mean you didn't hide something to us. all we want is (I know this is hard to do) share informations even It is about something sounds bad. Believe me, It will not touch your revenue. we all know your hard work, we all know you try to communicate with us, we all know you think about us not money and we all know you don't ignore users. So please just tell us. then we will tell it's okay dude to you. so It's weekend now, have a nice weekend. |

I'm going to purchase the game as I've supported OOTP since v4. What I want for the extra funds however is customer support. For OOTPGO it simply vanishes about a month after launch. Let's change that this year please. Thanks much

suggest) can we have financial tab and mental tab for roster/FA/IAFA etc?
(we can see each player's payment if you select default view in waiver tab but It's not working in roster tab) for roster, just normal financial informations like current payment, left years, sercice time etc. for FA and IFAF, include how much FA players wants and reward for QO is exist or not will be great. mental tab shows low or high for each mental class and total class like captain, outspoken etc etc. I think these are pretty usable and also won't hurt OOTP 25 for PC. and It's really hard to find local player or popular players. I wish you consider this positibely. Last edited by coolfish2; 04-06-2024 at 07:24 PM. |

Changing One-Pitch to PxP
It would be great to add under the Action button the ability to switch between the two options. Seems easy, and for those (which seems like quite a few reading these boards) that use a balance between the two (e.g. runner on base, switch) it avoids having to go to Options and scroll down. If nothing else, maybe move to the top in the Options screen. Much easier to switch in desktop version.

As much as Markus thinks it’s not important, I just want a simplified dumb down version of game action. I don’t want 3d on my phone. A web page view like the MLB game Day page would be perfect. Pitch by pitch recap with strike zone and pitch location. And then the result of the plays.
