How are cards picked to be made. Some people know I play only White Sox cards. Robin Ventura played 10 years with White Sox & 3 years with Mets so he gets a Mets card. And no, every metric shows he was much more product as a White Sox. If yall need a list of historically good-great White Sox players, let me know. Until I got Garrett Crochet 3 days ago, Only 1 White Sox card was released over a time of 1 month & that was a TAFFY WRIGHT (72) card. " I been quiet over that 1 month". Now I won't mention the 2-3 40 or 50 rated cards released. Those are straight up deactivated. Zero use.

Just 76 ish cards releases this morning zip Sox. Pitiful to say the least. Do a count on Yankees cards released

Harold Baines played 14 years with White Sox, 3 years Oakland A's, but gets a Oakland card. Yeah, that makes sense.

Players are picked for varieties of reasons. Sometimes to match a theme, sometimes to highlight different seasons of theirs. Often over the course of a cycle longer serving members will get multiple cards - like Ventura has a White Sox card from the initial set, sometimes the next time they get a card is to balance them out. For him, for example, his best career season was 1999. Most long serving players will get cards for their primary team at some point in the cycle, but, for example, this is the first Baines card released from his Oakland time.

As a count on the cycle, as of a week ago, the White Sox are in 3rd place for total number of cards released, behind the Cardinals and Pirates (not counting alternate names of teams, like the White Stockings, RedLegs, etc...). These things go in cycles - the White Sox got 4 cards in the second tournament batch, for example. I'm sure there will be other elite level cards coming over the coming weeks and months.

Pretty sure White Sox were never called the White Stockings according to baseball reference.

I kinda disagree with you on the Baines card by overlooking at minimum 4 White Sox years with the one for Oakland. Try looking at his Baines 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985 as he had MVP votes in all 4.Okay, th number of Sox cards might be 3rd but when at least 50% or more of those are from 69 to 40 cards that argument don't pass the smell test. I'm trying to be a good soldier & spend $$$$ but really not happening. I almost got demoted to bronze with all the great Sox cards.

Just frustrating waiting for some cards but not happening either.

Re: White Stockings: it wasn't necessarily a comment on the team (like it's possible when you combine Orioles and Browns maybe they have more cards than other teams). White Stockings were actually the Cubs from some of those 1880s years. Some of those early years it's confusing what teams were called what.

For Baines, sorry I missed one A's card, in his entire PT career (PT 19 to 25 to date), he's had 9 White Sox cards, 2 Oakland cards (I missed one from the Build a Legend year), and 2 Baltimore cards. He's had a White Sox card in every iteration of the game so far, odds are he will get one again.

It's hard to balance everything, for sure. There's a lot of teams and a lot of history, and I know the team picking cards does their best to both represent the best of history, while also highlighting some lesser known parts of history too (like those Baines Oakland years).
