Could someone explain to me the purpose of the "Enter new team password" option under Team Setup and the purpose of "Import team from FTP"?

I thought participants in an online league had to download the entire league file each week. Does the Import Team from FTP allow an owner to only download his team's info?? Does the commish have to do anything special in particular to allow for this?

And I'm entirely not sure what the individual team password does. Does each owner in the league have to be given a password so no one else messes with his team? Does that mean the commish has to manage 28 passwords if his league has 28 teams?

And a side note- shouldn't the OOTP manual cover this stuff??

Password is for teams to protect certain info from "the whole league", such as FA bids, etc. This is NOT a requirement, but an option.

Import team is for the commish to "import" just a particular team if need be from the FTP location.

Ah, so both the import and export team functions in the Team SetUp page are solely for use by the Commish, not the individual team owners.

That makes sense.

No, "export team" is used by the GM. He can simply export just his team(making lineup changes, etc) to the league server with that button and not have to email his team file.

actually the export function is for you to export your team to the FTP server. Then the commish uses Import to get the changes you have just exported...
