Offensive Strategy Question
No matter what I do, I can't seem to get my team to score runs, or even live up to their ratings.
Example: I've had the 101 Ted Williams for 5 seasons - .262 with 82 hr. Can never seem to be top half of the league in runs scored. Is there a basic guide I can go by to figure out the best strategy settings? |

Yeah, there is a reason why they don't live up to card rating. Just because a 100,101,102 printed on a card don't mean it's programmed to be a 100+ card. It's a 100 card for different reasons. I've been playing PT Live since it became into existence & this is 1st year the 101+ cards were introduced & I shudder to think what they will be rated at season end. I also remember when none of the rating eclipsed 100 of batters or pitchers. I also believe each individual league & cards is set to perform differently randomly throughout the year. Like why a STAR player in a silver league can hit 35+ HR in a league against virtually the same players on opposing team you play weekend and week out but the next year he'll hit 15-20 HR the next? It's like they rotate from year to year. Its the same for pitchers. I cant get above silver & I play against same teams over and over with vastly different result every year. (Don't tell me to buy new cards to improve because some people just can't drop thousands of $$$ on imaginary cards that go away every year) The cards don't change so something else is getting changed or already set to perform a certain way every year. I think the card ratings or league ratings are manipulated from season to season or by the card. Just my honest opinion & have no proof that happens, but each year is mostly vastly different than previous seasons. Of course Im going to get the "Well players never duplicate season In real life? So why are cards design by which year the ratings are assigned to? But it is what it is & it's still an enjoyable game
Just my .35 cents on subject. It's all in the card or league algorithm programed into them. I suspect I'll be playing in same leagues as against same teams that I am right now when new version comes out BB... Last edited by Bunktown Ballers; 10-03-2024 at 11:51 AM. |

It's hard to know why your team isn't scoring runs based on 1 player stats. What's your ballpark? What level are you playing at? Who are your other players?
My teams are in gold and 80% of the teams have Ted Williams, so based on that one single data point, if you are in gold, you're just keeping up with the average and not exceeding it. My Ted had 9 HR last week in 144 games, while another Ted Williams had 29 HR, both in neutral ballparks. We both made the playoffs and we both stayed in gold anyway. |
