History Inconsistency

Does anyone know why, depending on where you look, you will see a different team designation?

The first image is from the player's stat page. The second is from a current season news article. Note how the news article shows the current team name instead of the historical name. Is this working as designed?

Might be because the 1901 Milwaukee Brewers relocated to St. Louis in 1902.
Although i have read that the teams may not really be that closely related as only a few players moved with the team.

No, you are correct about the team moving. The point I'm making is that in one spot he shows that he was with SLA in 1901, even though they didn't exist and he played on MLA in 1901, as shown in his personal stats.
