Try eriqjaffe's uniform app. Even does argyle well.

Yes I've been playing around with it. It's pretty neat. Once the game gets it right it will be cool. Eriqjaffe's apps are wonderful. All of them.

Real nice. Just read Matt Arnold's post that a new patch will be up tomorrow. Hope they implement the fix to use these socks. We will have complete uniforms. Now if they could make it so you can turn helmets on or off for old historic season play.

I've used them in the beta. Look OK. Forgive the historical inaccuracy, but my league is in 1974, and the rainbows didn't come out until '75. I just put them on for this game to test them out.

Mine don't come out like that. I made St. Louis Cardinals socks from eriqjaffe's uniform program and they look just like the template. Like a double sock. Unless I'm doing something wrong. This is how mine come out.

Made mine in that program, too. That particular sock is a custom pattern I imported through the program, then just resized it. I made sure to keep the stripes outside of the lines where they may be cut off. And getting the pattern lined up decently was just trial and error. I expanded and distorted the pattern image in the program.

Even the templates that came with the socks in the game does the same thing. I have stripes on the ankles and also on the upper calf. Guess I'll wait and see about the update tomorrow.

In the Uniform Maker program, if you adjust the sanitary sock slider, you can move the stripes up and down and should be able to move them above the ankles.

Well I can't get the socks to work. Still come out with pieces missing. Even a simple one color no stripe stirrup is wonky.

Put these in your socks folder and see if they show up OK in the game. They are two separate files, one for home (no designation in file name) and the other for away (file name says "away") for the St. Louis Cardinals. If not, then you probably have another issue, because they work fine in my game.

Thank you. I gave it a shot. Well trust me, it looks like the other picture.
There are a lot of people pointing this out in the bugs forum. Thanks for trying. I wonder, are you on a mac? I'm on windows. Last edited by zappa1; 05-09-2024 at 03:33 PM. |

I'm on Windows. No issues with the socks or the sock portion of the Uniform Maker. All has worked fine for me since I found about this a few days ago. Here's how they look in my game. Left photo shows the socks I attached above, and the right photo shows the pairs of socks from the '60s-80s Cardinals I created in part with the Uniform Maker with some custom work afterward in paint.net.

So I figured out the solution to anyone having issues with the sock template issue where the player model is displaying both the left and right socks on top of each other on both legs. The key files are found in the data/ballparks/models/misc/player/models folder. That appears to be where the files controlling rendering of 3d player models including socks are kept. Anytime you reinstall data either with a patch update or uninstalling game and reinstalling, game files are reinstalled including the ones in the above folder which are critical to rendering the player models correctly (or so I think). So for me, the socks displayed properly each time I reinstalled the game data. However, I was inadvertently copying over the new player models data each time when I would manually copy over an old saved modded and customized ballpark models folder (containing real ads, etc) over the newly installed data. Didn't realize the player models folders were hidden inside the ballparks folder. If the files in the player/models folder from the recent patch is left alone, then the socks template displays correctly on the 3d player models. So the key is making sure you get rid of any old player/models folder files and reinstall the current updated file and make sure not to copy over those files with an older one (which is what I was doing before figuring out the solution). Sorry this is a bit confusing but this worked for me and hope it helps anyone else with this issue.

Thank you, dodgerball. That is exactly what it was. It's all working now. When I install an update, I move folders out so they don't get overridden. Then I put them back in. So to protect my ballparks the misc folder wasn't getting updated with the new. I re-installed the game and copied that misc folder to my old ballparks folder and put that back into the game. Now it all works. Thank you. If only the updates don't override your stuff, this wouldn't happen. But since it does, I save my folders first before I update because it will kill all of my ballparks and other stuff.
And thanks to Cheo25 and Sweed for your help, also. Last edited by zappa1; 05-10-2024 at 02:41 AM. |
