Paul Skenes Career simmed in OOTP25
Since Skenes got called up this week, and what is more fun as an OOTP manager than having a top pitching prospect come up to the Majors and do well, I wanted to see how he did in an OOTP Live Start.
I used a new Live Start game but had to manually call him up because he wasn't called up in game yet. Otherwise everything ran on autopilot. He had a 15 year career and he left Pittsburgh in free agency and went to the Yankees for 4 years and finished with 4 years as a Dodger. He had 160 wins and 150 losses 3.88 ERA with 2648 K's and 834 walks and a career WAR of 53.8. 5 time All-Star and led the league in wins in 2032 but no Cy Young Awards. I ran another sim with the only difference being was I buffed up his potential Stuff. He went to the Yankees and Cubs this time and went 235-139 3.11 ERA in that one and finished 4th on the All-Time Strikeout list with 4388 between Steve Carlton and Roger Clemens and won 5 Cy Youngs in a HoF career. He didn't win a World Series in either SIM but it certainly wouldn't be surprising to see him in pinstripes, or a Dodger after his free agency clock ticks down.

That's funny. I rolled the dice and ended up with the Pirates as my team to manage this year. I play out each game in 1-pitch mode. Currently we aren't doing that well at 27-37. I called up Skenes because I ended up with a couple of my starters injured - Keller and Falter. Skenes pitched 4 games for me and was 1-3 with an era well over 6. Both Keller and Falter are back now and needless to say, Skenes is back with the Indians. He's going to be a good one but not quite yet in my save. Cheers!

In my latest save he lost it, went to the pen then was out of the league by 30. Happened to all the top starters. My 2029 bullpen had a $2mil middle reliever Spencer Strider, complete with 35 stamina and everything.
