Question About Defensive Stats

There must be something I don't understand here, because when I look at this player his defensive stats look like they should be good. Yet, he has a horrible Zone Rating and Defensive Efficiency.

In 25 MLB innings at Center Field, he has -1.7 ZR and .678 Def Efficiency.

Yet, his basic stats are pretty solid: 1 Assist, 0 Errors, 2.81 Range. On his expanded fielding stats page it looks pretty solid: 2/2 routine plays, 1/1 likely, 1/1 even, 2/4 unlikely, 1/4 remote and 6 impossible.

I don't understand why his ZR and DE stats are so horrendous.

I guess that's because ZR is relative stats while DEF and BIZs are absolute stats.
That means other center fielders are already better than him.
But I'm not sure bwcause OOTP 25's defensive stats have a little problem since it's released.

25 innings feels like too small of a sample size to draw any conclusions imo
