how do i prevent free agents being added when i add a league

I added 2024 real life rosters to an existing fictional game (for the purpose of starting Jan, 2024 with current rosters). The game generated dozens of free agents, many of whom have potential of 70 or more. I tried under league settings / players to limit international amateur and established FAs, and independant league FAs, but that does not seem to make a difference.

How do I prevent this? right now I am going thru and manually deleting any player with a blank history, but that takes forever (plus I"m worried it will happen every year)

Go to League Settings, on the Rules Tab, 1/2 way down right side there's an option to disable automatic creation of free agents.

See if you have that checked.
