71 Stamina SP exhausted after 37 pitches, 0 ERA despite 7H, 6R, 1HR outing?
Hi,
The attached screenshot is from an Iron tournament. Any idea what may be going on here? I can understand this pitcher being lifted after allowing 6 runs, but not that he's exhausted after 37 pitches. I also don't get how his ERA can be 0.00, as two of his allowed runs are the result of a HR. Is this a bug, or am I missing something? I'm trying to improve my Iron tournament performance, but I don't want to extract data if it's wrong or I am going to interpret it wrong. Thanks.

For the ERA, any chance the HRs were hit with 2 outs and an error had already been made?

After the game, the fatigue is forward-looking (ie. Their fatigue towards their next start). So it's saying that he definitely can't start again right away. It doesn't mean that he was tired for the game, or would have been tired after 40 pitches, or anything like that.

Hi Carplos,
The second inning went like this: PA1: Single PA2: E4 which allowed the first runner to advance to 2B and the second to reach 1st. PA3: Fly out. PA4: Fly out. PA5: Single, advancing the first two runners by one base. Then, the log says the runner from 3rd tried for home and was safe (1 run scored, other two runners advanced to 2nd and 3rd.) PA6: Double, bringing in the runners from 2nd and 3rd. PA7: Single, advancing the batter from PA6 to 3rd. Then he tries for home and is safe. PA8: Home run. (Pitcher change.) So you were right. I don't know much about official scoring, so I guess this is correct - although something feels wrong about charging no runs to a pitcher who allows three singles, a double and a home run... Thanks for solving this part of the mystery. Perhaps the exhaustion was caused by exasperation with the error and shoddy throws to home? ![]() Edit: thanks Matt for clearing up the other part!

Yeah, earned runs are based on re-creating the inning without the error.
If the pitcher should have been out of the inning when they allowed the home run...they are unearned. A starting pitcher typically has a much longer pre-game warmup process than a relief pitcher. OOTP imitates this with how pitcher fatigue works. So, even if a pitcher has a shorter outing they are still likely to need their full amount of rest before pitching again. |

I think it was Lefty Gomez who said something like:
It isn't throwing pitches that tires you out. Its the constant running over to back up third base.
