Continue Game disabled in OOTP24

Hello all,

I know this has been brought up before and I have read some technical articles but those date back at least a year and when referred to copying .dat files, I am only seeing folders.

Basically I went to save an existing game and the game locked. After about 10 minutes, I force closed it and obviously this corrupted or upset something. I did not have other programs running at this time.

Now, Steam opens fine and OOTP24 launches fine, but "Continue Game" is grayed. I am not sure what to do with the current file structure.

I am attempting a restore from backup - based on my separate issue identified where "Load Game" was grayed out.

I get the attached image so clearly I am missing a step or as was indicated, the backup system is broken. Invalid current index value?
