Is it unrealistic to hope for...

a trade AI, in the next patch, where at least we won't have to use house rules to avoid taking advantage of the AI?

I don't expect perfection. I don't think it's ever going to be quite as good as a real-life GM. What I'd hope for is that it might be at least good enough where these house rules were unnecessary. Is this realistic?

Well, considering that there has never been any type of game that has used a trading system where even the smallest amount of house rules were not necessary. I would venture to say that you are reaching for the sky a bit.

It is not realistic to expect a trade AI that would not require house rules because you would have to assume that every person who is going to play the game is on the same level of expertise and will play the same exact way when confronted with certain decisions. This is simply not the case.

I saw that Steve . I posted in a separate thread because it was a specific question I had, aside from the general trade AI complaints.

The desired result is not an easy task given the variety of different types of leagues and players that can be used. Each person who plays the game has different expectations or desires as far as this area of the game is concerned so I don't know if our or any game can attain this. However, I do trust that the adjustments will make this area of the game more challenging and enjoyable.

I think we have to give a lot of slack here, and I do think it's unrealistic to expect a trade AI that's going to make more than a slim majority of people happy.
