OOTP 25 public beta patch (version 25.2.52) available!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 25 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.

Hi everybody!

We're preparing to release the second OOTP 25 patch, so here is a public beta, version 25.2.52. Please give it a try and report bugs here if you'd like to help

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, however both clients and the commish need to update to benefit from the online league fixes.

Updated MLB roster set (need to start new game for changes to apply)
Adjusted player creation for HS players
Updated player development speed for select players
Adjusted Reliever salary demands
Adjusted pitch value ratings for display
Updated player creation current ratings levels for draft picks, IAFA
Adjusted gains from speed, stealing, and baserunning development programs
Updated minor league player totals
Players added to the program selection portion of the development lab now stick for the back button
Fixed Restore dialog window height
Adjusted ratings changes when learning new position in the development lab
Fixed empty missions list on PT Home screen
Fixed teams releasing players while away on tournament. Slightly loosened reserve roster limits for unavailable player
Updated timing on throws
Added “Prefer ipv6” option to Settings dialog inside the Expert tab (potential fix for some issues with PT cards not appearing)
Added “Quick-Play & Finish Today” button to Today’s Game widget on Manager Home screen
Can now select which roster to use while the tournament is preparing or before the first game has been played.
Reduced improvements from defensive programs in the development lab
Development lab defensive program position no longer decided by current position
All defensive programs now count the same when determining a player’s already attempted programs each offseason
Improved ask AI to fill development lab
Updated Negro Leagues player ratings balance
Fixed sim to event not stopping
Updated color scale for 2-8 ratings
Fixed issue changing to neutralized stats in historical setup
Fixed not receiving draft pick compensation for unsigned players
Older minor league free agents will retire quicker. Teams will release older minor league players easier
PT: Fixed latest content releases list
PT: Tournament Roster Builder fixes:
- Improved back/forward button navigation
- Can now export from tournament to a new local saved roster
- Remove duplicate roster restrictions
- Roster restrictions now have a general sort (Non-Cap/Cap, DH/NoDH, then by restrictions)
- Updated menus
- Save created rosters on exit
- Fixed some button status mismatches
PT: Fixed errors in changing buy/sell order values.
PT: Fixed combinator cards in “Your Card Orders” tab
PT: Multiple fixes to Tournament Roster Builder
PT: Added list of used tournament/draft slots
PT: Adjusted default depth chart AI (avoid worse fielders)

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 25 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 25
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp25betapt
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

I have been pulling up the team salary pages and they aren't listing everyone that is on the active roster, Miami shows on 16 players on the salary page.

Yes, this is normal given that the game starts in the preseason.

Once the seasons starts, anyone on the MLB roster gets a minimum contract. This is the same as in real life MLB.

Thanks for mentioning this! Somehow when we imported the new service time calculations he ended up with a random eight digit number which was getting corrected to zero. Fixed now.

Draft pool problem was not solved. Still incomplete class until after the season. It was said in a couple of places on boards that this would be solved with the patch. Can we expect it on the patch tomorrow?

It's supposed to be fixed here. If it's still not working we'd need some more details on what happens.

I would not think the fix would not automatically fill a class you already have set and that is not full. You would likely need to change the date again in an already created game/start a new game and change it there to see this.

I thought that the trading system was too hard.
I offered seven players rated between 65 and 72 in exchange for an 80-rated player eligible for first arbitration, but the computer remained unmoved.
In OOTP 24, I usually only need 4 or 5 players of the same rating to complete the deal."

This is for a historical sim that is at 1/14/91. I have tried every combination of dates I could think of, the only way the draft class is complete-ish is if both the class release and the draft happen after the season. I am uncertain if the classes have all of the pitchers or it ratings are just really low.

Is this intended to affect players that are actively on minor league rosters as well? Every 27 and 28 year old I had in AA/AAA retired at the conclusion of those seasons.

Please note that Sean Newcomb also has 0 for service time.
