What is going on with the 3D grass color and texturing.

What is going on with the field coloring and texturing. The texturing look somewhat similar to MLB The Show. Right now the fields look terrible but maybe I am missing something. I'll give an example.

OOTP 25 are the first two pics OOTP 24 are the 3rd and 4th pics. Last pic is the ground files opened in Photoshop.

I've messed with all the color setting in the 3D ballpark editor (Global Settings) and cannot get anything resembling OOTP 24. It's as if there is some global color/texture file that is applied to all fields.

It looks like the game is now using some sort of normal maps for grass textures, which in my opinion looks fantastic.

In each stadium folder, there is a new ground.pfx file. I think if you remove that file it should revert to the old style grass.

I appreciate the advice and gave it a try. Didn't work.

I also tried removing the 2 grass files in the "misc">"grass" folder. That didn't work either.

I was really looking forward to 25 but this as you say has me bummed. I hope I can get this sorted. I only have 48 minutes left until I hit the 2 hours in game mark so I cannot keep opening 25 to test things for much longer.

Do you have ootp 24 installed? What if you try reloading the 3d stadium.pod file but from the ootp 24 location?

Yeah, I like the new grass too. There seems to be some depth to it (a plushness for lack of a better word) and when you move the camera close a bit of a ridge between the dirt surfaces and the grass surrounding it.

We all see things differently and have opinions. IMHO 25's grass is an upgrade over 24's.
