Facegen Issue

I've been playing OOTP for about a dozen years and have never had an issue with install or operation.

This year, I'm making up for all the years with no problems. lol

The first install failed yesterday when it came time to unpack the facegen zip. The install just stopped. I forced quit, downloaded a fresh install and got the exe installed.

But the first opening, I got an error that said the facegen pack was missing. I thought I took a screenshot but it appears that I didn't.

I could play PT and load old games that already had logos/faces attached but it crashed anytime I tried to start a fresh game.

I downloaded the update today and tried a fresh install ... with the same issue as yesterday. The game hangs up at the exact same spot. But I don't get the error message at startup.

I'm on Windows 11, 32gb RAM, Intel UHD 630 Graphics Card.

I've tried all the troubleshooting suggestions I could find and I'm really at a loss.

It seems like this is a borked install.

My best suggestion would be to go to settings > troubleshooting > force game data re-installation and click that. That should reset things.

The fact that the developers are so accessible and willing to interact directly with the players is what sets this game apart!
