NABA: A Continent Connected
This... is the North American Baseball Alliance.
![]() These 36 teams will square it out in a 162-game season, with the top 9 teams in each league advancing to the playoffs. Only the best of the best will win the USCAMEX (USA, Canada, Mexico) Cup. All logos, uniforms, etc. are made by low, and you can find these unis at https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=338483. There will also be a Baseball World Cup, which will take place every 4 years. We'll also go through that. Next will be the team introductions, then we'll speed through Spring Training (and the BWC) before getting to Opening Day. Hopefully, this is a project I can keep up with. I also hope you enjoy this. NEXT POST- TEAM INTRODUCTIONS

Team Introductions- Northeast 1/2
Now it is time to actually introduce the teams. I only showed you the 36 teams, but it's now time to see them up close.
We're gonna go by division and start with the Northeast Division. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSTON BATTALION- Fenway Park, Boston, MA ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 78-84. 6th in Northeast Owned by the lenient Roberto Velez, this team wants to be one of the best. Their SS Scott Hebbel is one of the best shortstops in the league, ranking 3rd at that position. They also rank in the top 10 at 1B (Roberto Anaya) and LF (Michael Rice). On the mound, they're lead by Miguel Pares, who is the ace in the Battalion's 6-man rotation. Their bullpen is favored for righties, as only 3 of their pitchers are lefties. Their top prospect is Ming Mok, ranked 5th on the Top 100 list. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MONTREAL EXPOS- Olympic Stadium, Montreal, QC ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 84-78, 3rd in Northeast The Expos are going to have a tough time in the Northeast this year, as they could be the only team to be under .500. Bulgarian business mogul Niko Svetozar owns the team, and for the time being, he just wants a winning team. 2B Omar Guerra, 1B Edgar Vecino, and C Raul Cabrera are the leading forces on this team, ranked 3rd, 4th, and 2nd in the league, respectively. Omar Ramirez leads the starting rotation, and Jesus Ruiz (ranked 12th in the league) leads the pen. Their top prospect is Victor Valdez, ranked 18th on the Top 100 list. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUEBEC CITY ADMIRALS- Parc de la Capitale, Quebec City, QC ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 87-75, 2nd in Northeast Owner Zach Jayne believes that this is a fantastic team. Most of the league believes that this is a fantastic team. For 33-year old managing rookie Andy McEntire, it'll be fun. The squad has 4 players in the top 5 in the league in their respective positions: C Matt DiLibero (4th), 2B Mike Norton (2nd), SS Xiao-yong Lopan (2nd), and SP Corey Bobb (3rd). The previously aforementioned Bobb leads that starting rotation, and the bullpen is lead by big names such as setup Mo Rocha, setup Carlos Martinez, and closer Ben Robinson. Chris Gerald is the top prospect in the team system, ranked 12th of 100. The other 3 teams in the division are coming up.

Now for the other half. This came out later than I hoped due to Internet issues.
QUEENS NOBLES- Citi Field, Queens, NY ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 92-70, 1st in Northeast Team owner Pat Willis knows the Nobles will have to compete for the division crown, so he's pretty lenient and wants a somewhat successful team. That might be what he gets this year, as CF Edward Deakin ranks 3rd in that position. LF Danny Soria and P Michael Gonzalez are also projected to be fantastic players. On the mound, the aforementioned Gonzalez leads the starters, while MR Brian Doney and CL Brad Meszaros lead the bullpen. The team's top prospect is P Eric Lyden, who is ranked 43rd. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VIRGINIA BEACH CAPTAINS- Harbor Park, Norfolk, VA ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 82-80, 5th in Northeast Even though the Captains play in Norfolk, they "represent all of coastal Virginia." Owner Robby Newell wants this team to win, but his GM, Carlos Nunez, will have a tough time completing that goal. Their best players are Eker Auerbacher (a 2B with only 4/5 stars, ranked 8th in league), LF Steve Humphreys, and 1B Nick Rivas. Kali Tirranna and Ainanani Adamczak (I made the league a lot more internationally diverse) are the top starters, and Mike Waters and CL Jeff Harrington lead the bullpen. Ranked 2nd on the Prospects list is -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WASHINGTON EAGLES- Nationals Park, Washington DC ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 83-79, 4th in Northeast This team, owned by Toby Wahrman, is going to be a challenging competitor with Quebec City for the division title in 2011. CF Rico Luquin, 3B Ma-huan Zhang, and LF Sanjog Ranjana are the top 3 players on the Spring Training roster. Chia-ch'ing Wang leads the rotation (ranked 36th), while their closer Wu-ji Xu (ranked 3rd) leads the bullpen. Other notable names in the pen include Lothar Adema and Hyeon-seok Kim (who, interestingly, is North Korean. This is where the 1% random country selection comes into play, as prior to starting this, I chose all countries with at least 2-stars in quality, but excluded North Korea, who is somehow a 2-star quality country). 2B Dave Orantes, ranked 34th, is the team's best prospect. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the next 2 posts, we will look at the Great Lakes Division.

Team Introductions- Great Lakes 1/2
Now for the Great Lakes Division.
------------------------------------------------------------- CHICAGO CARDINALS- Wrigley Field, Chicago, IL ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 86-76, 2nd in Great Lakes This team, which is named after an NFL team that formerly resided in the Windy City, is owned by Dudley Clark. We don't know if he's a cheapskate or not, but the Cards do have the 10th lowest budget in the league. You can see a real example of cheap in the team's top 3 players: 3B Dave Garza (1 year, $450,000), LF David Velez (1 year, $3.8M), and C Heriberto Gonzalez (2 years, $12M). Leading the pitching team is the ace, Juan Rojas, the reliever Will Soto, and the closer David Gomez. The team's top prospect is SS Gareth Cook, ranked 55th. ------------------------------------------------------------- DETROIT CHARGERS- Comerica Park, Detroit, MI ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 77-85, 5th in Great Lakes Chargers owner Matt Brown is an impatient, but very generous man. The team sits in the middle of the league in budget, but that budget's been used to snag some decent players. The team's 3 best players are LF Adam Steed, 3B Alex Estrada, and 1B Hailama Marlee. Hipakeiki Alekona leads the somewhat solid rotation, and reliever Alex Almonte and closer Jose Moreno control a bullpen that looks to be very underwhelming, ranking 34th and 30th in the league respectively. The best prospect for the team is SS Wan-ling Li, ranking 19th among all prospects. ------------------------------------------------------------- GREEN BAY BRAVES- Kohl's Stadium at Lambeau, Green Bay, WI ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 80-82, 3rd in Great Lakes Here's another Moneyball team, owned by Mike Sutton. The team only gets a budget of $110 million, tied for 27th in the league. The team's best players are P Gerardo Velasquez, RF Freddy Corrales, and P Aulelio Maluhialani. Green Bay's pitching is mediocre, as the ace Velasquez ranks 16th in the league. Dave Puente, the reliever, ranks 13th, and closer Ville Elomo ranks 18th. The best prospect is LF Dean Wynn, who sits in 17th place. He is currently in Low-A (Short Season), with the Baton Rouge Golden Gophers. The other 3 teams in the division are coming up.

Team Introductions- Great Lakes 2/2
Now for the other half.
------------------------------------------------------------- INDIANAPOLIS RACERS- Victory Field, Indianapolis, IN ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 80-82, 4th in Great Lakes Whether or not this team, owned by Jon Johnson, will race to the pennant or not is a story for later. The Racers have a lot of talent, like 2B Joe Van Atta (ranked 14th), C Keijo Anttila (ranked 5th), and LF Robert Barnes (ranked 7th). The pitching staff is beyond impressive, lead by ace Motke Savir (ranked 17th) and reliever Samuli Vilen (ranked 2nd at reliever and 17th at closer). The top prospect on the team is Chris Haarer, ranked 3rd. He's on the Rookie League roster. ------------------------------------------------------------- MILWAUKEE HOPS- Miller Park, Milwaukee, WI ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 75-87, 6th in Great Lakes The other Wisconsin team is owned by Orlando Gomez, who only wants 2 things: money and success. They are going to need some desperate upgrades. Their top 3 players are RF Dan Smith (ranked 5th), CF Elmer Rangel (ranked 4th), and 1B Kiril Voronyuk (not ranked because he isn't the starter). The pitching team will need some work, as it is lead by starter Antonin Skokan (ranked 33rd), reliever Nimrod Kristol (ranked 30th) and closer Ramon Lopez (ranked 20th). The top prospect is P David Schilling, who is 20th. He currently is on the Rookie League affiliate's roster. ------------------------------------------------------------- ROCKFORD HOT RODS- Mercyhealth Ballpark- Rockford, IL ![]() SPRING TRAINING PREDICTIONS: 88-74, 1st in Great Lakes Tim Adams owns this team, which is based in one of, if not, the smallest city in the league. Their best players are 1B Azedine Kiplagat (ranked 5th), RF Kamaki Kaikala (ranked 8th), and C Carl Ward (ranked 10th). Shout out to SS Dave Wilkerson, who ranks 4th among all shortstops. The pitching team, like the Hops, also needs some work. Tai sun Tian, ranked 27th, leads the starters. Antonio Villa (ranked 22nd) leads the relievers, and Ramon Morales (ranked 21st) is the closer. The top prospect is Anubhava Elayavalli, ranked 50th. He sits in AAA Newark. ------------------------------------------------------------- In the next 2 posts, it'll be about the Southeast Division. After that, we head west.
