Help with 16 team league

I can NOT figure out what I'm doing wrong.

For years I've played with a 2 league, 14 team (7 teams in each league) setup for which I created a custom, inter-league schedule. No problems.

Recently I decided to go to a 16 team universe (8 teams in each league) but I CAN NOT get the game to either import the custom schedule I created OR create a fictional schedule on its own. It seems to ignore the inter-league aspect.

I have a lot of experience creating schedules but am stuck as no matter what I try, I can't trick OOTP into inter-league play. I feel like I must be doing something dumb but could use some advice. I've attached a screenshot showing what I'm running into when:
1) trying to have the game create a schedule
2) trying to import the schedule I created

Any advice? Thanks!

Have you already added the new teams? Because from the attached image you still only have 7 AL Teams.

If you're trying to import the 16 team schedule before expanding, you'll get that error message.

There are 8 teams in each league. The screenshot shows 7 teams because it's from the schedule Evaluation extract which shows the games for each individual team.

For example, in the screenshot the first team is Baltimore. That's one. Then it shows the games against the other seven, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, KC, NY, Washington

Kinda stumped on this.

If you try the game created option with a check in the "used balanced schedule format" it may work, but that's probably not what you want.

Only thing I can suggest on your custom schedule is go back through it with a fine tooth comb to see if there's an error some where, but you've probably done that already as well.

Sorry I don't have any other suggestions.

Keep in mind it really doesn't matter what schedule options are selected within OOTP as long as those options match what is in the header of the schedule file.

You can have interleague off and still import a schedule file with interleague play on provided the header of that schedule file and the file name are changed appropriately. This does not affect the content of the schedule as these are just labels being changed to match what is set inside OOTP.

OOTP is very picky about the header info and options in the game matching. Even one tiny mismatch and the file will not import.
