Defensive game ratings

I started a new historical game for the 2022 season.
I control one team and pc controls all others.
All defensive ratings are 1 or 2 - even for gold glovers during game.
My game set-up defensive ratings are set at 1 - 10.
Which setting did I miss when setting up the game ?

Also - how do I change my "avatar name" on the screen ?
