Board is not slow, it basically won't load at all. Please fix today.

Ok, the board was slow yesterday, I'm talking minutes to come up, that improved to 5 to 10 seconds being the norm.

Today? Almost impossible. I've spent the last half hour going through "can't load check your internet connection" messages while hitting the "reload" to finally be able to post this. Last time it was a few days before OOTP got around to fixing the issue. Please let's not wait that long this time.

Like yesterday I have no issues anywhere on the net other than here. Been through it enough times over the years to know it's an issue here, not at some other hub on the net.

I'd love to read what is in the new beta patch but, my choice was use my 30 minutes to get hopefully get through to post this or to try to load the patch thread. I chose this.

Actually by buying the game we pay for the boards. They don't provide them "just because".

When they are down it is in their interest to get them up and running properly.
Last time it took about a week for them to get around to it.

Now if we could return to constructive posts that are on topic it would be great. IE let them know it's not been an issue for you, is slower than normal, etc. etc.

Some pages load quickly, others cause a time-out.

Downloading the latest update right now, and that does not appear affected.

EDIT - right after I posted this, the d/l speed completely tanked...then, after 30sec, cranked up again. Seems like it would be on a different server than this forum, though, so it is likely not connected.

Sweed, they know there's a problem. You don't need you to tell them. Now if you would quit making superfluous posts maybe it would run a little quicker.

What I'm doing this morning is push the button and then when it doesn't want to load I go outside and cut the grass for a bit. I go real slow with lots of breaks because of the temperature. Then I come back and see if the board is running. Maybe you could try something similar.

I don't know if the board is a net gain for OOTP or not. It seems many companies have decided that a board like this doesn't help them, at least not enough to justify the expense. Anyway, they don't have to provide it. It's not included in the price of the game. Neither are updates. So don't say you pay for it.

So two and a half hours and I got back on. New record.

And you know they are aware because the confirmed it, right?

Check Peilcan's post, he claims all is ok.

You don't know anything about what they do, or do not know.

The last time through this cycle some posted all was ok for them. After a few days OOTP finally came in to acknowledge the problem and then took two attempts to get if fixed.

Whether it's a net gain or not has no bearing. They provide it at a cost. Unless somebody is donating those funds they come from sales.

Feel free to go back to the off topic boards and make your complaints about, your many issues there. You know on these boards that are provided "free with no ads".

Brad, while I don't appreciate your combatativeness, I must thank you for digging up this trip down memory lane! How many of us here are old enough to remember dial-up modems, much less concerns about baud rate and telephone call length?

And that video loops. Just to bug her, I turned the speakers on my laptop up to 100% and let it rip. She refused to take the bait. I gave up after the 10th iteration, thereby saving my own sensibilities.

Many years my wife and I were sitting on the porch with my mother who was visiting. The cat invited herself onto my lap and snuggled against my belly. My mother looked and said "The cat likes him, he can't be all bad!"

The connection now is constant and stable with only occasional slight delays. Two to three seconds when it happens, other times it's instant.
