Can't select DH during the Game

Something weird happened. My CF got injured while he was a runner. I changed my DH to CF and immediately the Pitcher took the missing spot. I replaced the Pitcher from the batting order with another guy, but I can't set him as DH. I can now select every position including Pitcher but no DH available.

Rule 5.11 - The designated hitter can be moved to a fielding position during the game. If the DH is moved to another position, his team forfeits the role of designated hitter, and the pitcher or another player (the latter possible only in case of a multiple substitution) would bat in the spot of the position player replaced by the former DH.

You have no DH for the remainder of the game. The position is forfeited. That's the game working as it should. That's baseball, sorry!

Something new I learned here. Thanks for pointing it out. It's my first season following MLB and baseball as a whole, so there's a lot to learn still.

No prob. As an American League guy, it was something I learned back in the day watching All-Star games and World Series games played in NL parks because no-DH NL double switches weren't part of the Red Sox games I grew up with.

Glad you are getting into baseball and found OOTP.
