Spotlight Packs Information

A whole new way to pull cards, focusing on recent and high-valued content releases!

Card Selection

Each Spotlight Pack is set up where one card is fixed, pulled from a selection of recent content cards. The other 5 cards in the pack will be drawn from any non-live players, using the standard ratio of card tiers and odds.

The fixed card in the spotlight pack will be guaranteed to be at least a silver card. The pool of cards will vary – the default way will be from the last roughly 4 packable content sets, but some packs will be set up differently.

The cards from the selected content set(s) will be weighted to be pulled at the following ratios:

Silver cards: 4x
Gold cards: 3x
Diamond cards: 2x
Perfect cards: 1x

So, for example, say the pack was set for the fixed card to come from ONLY the cards from the first Future Legends collection. In that set, there were 2 Perfect cards, 13 Diamond cards, 17 Gold cards, and 23 Silver cards. In that case, if you add up the weights above, the total would be 171 (2*1 + 13*2 + 17*3 + 23*4). Thus, each perfect card individually would have a 1 in 171 chance of being selected (or a 2 in 171 [or 1.17%] chance of pulling either one of the perfect cards). Each Diamond card would have a 2 in 171 chance individually, or 26/171 as a collection (15.2% in that case) of appearing in the pack as the fixed card. The gold cards as a collection have a 29.8% chance of being the guaranteed card, with the remaining odds (53.8%) of being one of the silver cards.

Note that those odds will change with the potential cards available in the spotlight pack. If there were 4 possible perfect cards instead of 2, then the odds of pulling a perfect overall would increase (to 4/173, or 2.3%, if those 2 other perfect cards were simply added to the pool of cards).

Limited Edition cards will NOT be included in the potential fixed set of cards – they are always considered to be “outside” of the content set. They can still appear as the "other" 5 cards in the set.

Pack Set Date

Spotlight Packs are set for the specific content set in mind. Each time a spotlight pack is offered, it will be for a specific content selection. For that reason, spotlight packs cannot be “saved” for future content updates.

All spotlight packs have fixed cards at the moment the pack is released – the spotlight pack for this week will always have the same ratios for those fixed cards. If the pack is opened after the next week’s content, the fixed card will not change or be updated for future content sets.

The 5 flexible cards in the pack will be determined at the time the pack is opened – so limited edition or other cards may change depending on when the pack is actually opened, but the fixed card will not update with future content releases.

Pack Pricing

The pack price for each spotlight pack, as well as the fixed card content, will vary each time. Sometimes the fixed card in the pack may come from only that week’s content. Other times it may include any content throughout the entire cycle. Due to that fact, each time a spotlight pack is offered, it will be priced at a different value.

Spotlight Packs in general will also only be offered for limited timeframes. While they certainly could stay longer, or return at a later date, generally speaking a spotlight pack will only stay active for around 48 hours after a content release.

You must be on version 24.5.64 or later to view the spotlight pack art. While you should still be able to purchase them on earlier versions, it is recommended that everyone update to the new version.

For example, the first spotlight pack will contain the following cards as the possible "fixed" card. The odds listed are the odds of having that card as the fixed card in the set - the overall odds of the card being in the pack will be higher as they may also appear as one of the other 5 cards.

There are 5 perfect cards, thus given the pack composition, that will come out to roughly a 1.7% chance of the perfect card being the "fixed" card from the pack. The 21 Diamond card have combined odds of 14.4%. The 27 Gold cards have combined odds of 27.7%, and finally the remaining 41 silver cards will have combined odds of 56.2%.

The first pack is live, and will be around for roughly 48 hours, until Saturday 1pm EDT.

Not immediately. After some or most content releases, we will release new versions of spotlight packs. They will each vary in content and pricing.

Note that on OOTP Go 24, the spotlight packs are available, however you need to purchase them through the "action" menu from the pack purchase page. We will have another patch shortly which should allow future spotlight packs to be visible on the main pack purchase page.

I bought a spotlight pack. They were non-live cards. But no silver or better. It was a rip of 16000 points.

Do you have a screenshot of this particular pack? What username did this occur on so we can double-check? If that happened, then that shouldn't have happened.

I don’t remember when PP sales generally start? A PP sale tends to inflate prices more and there seems to be too much PP in the game causing higher cost per player.

Note that if you have updated to the beta version, you will see a green Spotlight Pack #4 list. If you have not updated to the beta, you will see the generic spotlight pack image. There is no difference between the versions - the new patch simply uses a different image for each spotlight pack variation rather than a generic image for all of them.

Card Selection Each Spotlight Pack is set up where one card is fixed, pulled from a selection of recent content cards. The other 5 cards in the pack will be drawn from any non-live players, using the standard ratio of card tiers and odds. The fixed card in the spotlight pack will be guaranteed to be at least a silver card. The pool of cards will vary – the default way will be from the last roughly 4 packable content sets, but some packs will be set up differently. The cards from the selected content set(s) will be weighted to be pulled at the following ratios: Silver cards: 4x Gold cards: 3x Diamond cards: 2x Perfect cards: 1x So, for example, say the pack was set for the fixed card to come from ONLY the cards from the first Future Legends collection. In that set, there were 2 Perfect cards, 13 Diamond cards, 17 Gold cards, and 23 Silver cards. In that case, if you add up the weights above, the total would be 171 (21 + 132 + 173 + 234). Thus, each perfect card individually would have a 1 in 171 chance of being selected (or a 2 in 171 [or 1.17%] chance of pulling either one of the perfect cards). Each Diamond card would have a 2 in 171 chance individually, or 26/171 as a collection (15.2% in that case) of appearing in the pack as the fixed card. The gold cards as a collection have a 29.8% chance of being the guaranteed card, with the remaining odds (53.8%) of being one of the silver cards. Note that those odds will change with the potential cards available in the spotlight pack. If there were 4 possible perfect cards instead of 2, then the odds of pulling a perfect overall would increase (to 4/173, or 2.3%, if those 2 other perfect cards were simply added to the pool of cards). Limited Edition cards will NOT be included in the potential fixed set of cards – they are always considered to be “outside” of the content set. They can still appear as the "other" 5 cards in the set. Pack Set Date Spotlight Packs are set for the specific content set in mind. Each time a spotlight pack is offered, it will be for a specific content selection. For that reason, spotlight packs cannot be “saved” for future content updates. All spotlight packs have fixed cards at the moment the pack is released – the spotlight pack for this week will always have the same ratios for those fixed cards. If the pack is opened after the next week’s content, the fixed card will not change or be updated for future content sets. The 5 flexible cards in the pack will be determined at the time the pack is opened – so limited edition or other cards may change depending on when the pack is actually opened, but the fixed card will not update with future content releases. Pack Pricing The pack price for each spotlight pack, as well as the fixed card content, will vary each time. Sometimes the fixed card in the pack may come from only that week’s content. Other times it may include any content throughout the entire cycle. Due to that fact, each time a spotlight pack is offered, it will be priced at a different value. Spotlight Packs in general will also only be offered for limited timeframes. While they certainly could stay longer, or return at a later date, generally speaking a spotlight pack will only stay active for around 48 hours after a content release. You must be on version 24.5.64 or later to view the spotlight pack art. While you should still be able to purchase them on earlier versions, it is recommended that everyone update to the new version. We will have another patch shortly which should allow future spotlight packs to be visible on the main pack purchase page.

If you have not updated to the beta, you will see the generic spotlight pack image. There is no difference between the versions - the new patch simply uses a different image for each spotlight pack variation rather than a generic image for all of them.
