Important: This patch is only for OOTP 24 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore or Epic version!

Hi everybody!

We have continued to work on the game, so here is a new public beta, version 24.8.75. Please give it a try if you'd like to help

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, however both clients and the commish need to update to benefit from the online league fixes.

Changelist (24.8.75):
Updated MLB rosters (need to start a new game for changes to apply)
Luxury Tax/Revenue Sharing now projected forward for this and future years
Fixed IAFA future budgets when changing cap values
Fixed online league html files being overwritten locally
Updated contract demands for top tier and/or two-way players
Adjusted internal popup rate
Fixed historical minor league pitchers getting rated too highly
Misc bug fixes

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 24 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 24
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp24betapt
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

Regarding Fixed minor league pitchers getting rated too highly, does it refer to what was commented in the forum days ago that many pitchers without major league careers arriving to the draft (historical seasons) were imported with very high overall ratings and ready to play at the highest level?

Ha! My historical draft class just got revealed yesterday and I was like WTF? Who are these guys who are 3/5 stars already lol. Is that going to adjust my draft pool now or is it a wait until next year kind of patch?

Sounds like a tough break on the timing of the draft class reveal because I believe, once revealed, the class is the class.

I've pumped more money to teams financials in my 8/1 trade deadline file, but also have increased player demand by quality tiers.....but WOW Ohtani went from asking $41M from the Angels pre-patch to now almost $68M!!! As an elite hitter and pitcher, value-wise probably makes sense. Good to see the game recognize his unique eliteness doing both.

Just eye-popping to see it

Thank you so much for updating the Revenue Sharing and Luxury Tax into team budget calculations! This is the best update yet with team financials.

In my live start, the revenue sharing gave teams a lot more money to spend in free agency. EX. Shohei to the Marlins, Kershaw & Urias signed to the A's. I enjoyed the challenge of rebuilding a small-market team with little-to-no money to acquire stars in free agency. Any advice?

Fixed historical minor league pitchers getting rated too highly

You realize that batters also are appearing overrated and are overplaying. Eg. a batter who played 1 season in AA, with 6 HR in 64 PA is leading MLB in HR. (1918 era)

I imported an edited roster to my live start and got a ton of duplicate players in my minor league system. Didn't know if it had to do with the beta or was normal from imported rosters. This was my first time importing a roster, so that could be the issue.

If you don't "Retire According to History," players can develop on their own - same as players in a standard 2023 game that goes on beyond this season. The development engine takes over when stats run out. Who is it btw?
