Laptop crashing (blue-screen) while playing out games
I'm about 8 or 9 years into an OOTP 24 save (which I started in 23 and transferred over a few months ago), and I've started to run into a problem where my computer crashes and brings up the blue screen of death at times when I am watching games
After this happened twice last week, I initially thought this was a problem with my computer (not the best computer but I've never had issues with OOTP before). But I happened to have just bought a brand new, more powerful laptop, so I copied my save file over to the new one. A few hours in, this one too blue-screened, and required a hard reset to set back to normal. I'm going to assume there isn't a problem with my brand new laptop, so I'm thinking my save file is corrupted? Is there any other explanation? Why (if corrupted) would it largely allow me to play as normal but crash during games? Thanks for your help |

Even a corrupted save shouldn't cause an issue like this.
Worst case scenario the game would just crash, but it should never trigger a blue screen. So I suspect there may be something else that's the culprit here, likely something in common between the old and new computers that's interacting badly with OOTP. Do you have the same anti-virus on each? You might need to make sure OOTP is whitelisted in that. Any other programs you might be running at the same time as OOTP on both computers?
