why did they change the bronze tournaments?

16 team double elimination bronze tournaments have been replaced with BO7.

I have no clue why they would do this. The 16 teamers had to be the most popular, they filled so fast, and replace it with a tournament that will take 4X as long and IF you win you get 2 more packs. This is a dreadful move for players.

I suppose because too many people complained about the double elimination. Happy people keep quiet. Gold got a Bo7 and kept their old format and ditto for silver. Why was the Bronze double elimination axed?

Not only did they change the format, they reduced the packs awarded by 25%. It takes 6 hours for a Bo7 to finish and they award 9 packs total. In 6 hours, 3 double elimination could be played awarding 12 packs in total.

I suspect it is because they are trying to get people to sign up for PT+ and get the extra slot.

I was already PT+ and now I am competing for 25% less packs than before.

It was a massive blunder that they will hopefully fix real soon. As mentioned perhaps it is an attempt at another money grab for PT+ but as it stands unless they alter the rewards to what it was last year when you got 10 packs for a win this needs to be changed immediately. Either go back to what it was or fix the prize structure.

They probably did the math this way: We have 600 bronze quicks firing every day giving away 2400 packs, so now we double the size of the tournament so only 300 tournaments but we give away 2700 packs. Everyone will be thrilled with us.

I could not agree with you more, I do not see myself re-upping next month for PT+

No point in an extra tournament slot if the ones you want take forever to fill. Apparently they don't want us to spam tournaments unless we spend all day on the game or app. No filling up your 4 slots on a break anymore.

This is exactly right. I especially hate the one and done Gold Tournaments. It takes constant attention to stay in them because of 1 game rounds. The new best of 7 is better but 2/3 or 3/5 would have been better. Com2Us is ruining Markus' masterpiece with their corporate greed. It gets worse each of the past couple of years.
