help with the names on uniforms
I have the check mark on in the uniforms , im using old uniforms from the 60's all of them have the names on them execept 2 the colt 45's and the yankees. do i need uniforms that allow names or did the names work on all uniforms. if so is there uniforms for the 60's colt 45's and yankees someone has made for them to work or what do you do for this to work. I know that maybe some teams didn't have names, but since this is a game where we make our own changes , could someome help me thanks

Even if the name box in the game is checked, the font itself has to have letters in it for the names to show up. So it depends on the font you're using for a specific team. Here are examples from the default files in OOTP.
So, if for example, you were using the font on the left for a team, it wouldn't matter if the name box was checked, you wouldn't have names because there are no letters in that font. Last edited by cheo25; 06-13-2023 at 12:02 PM. |

FWIW the Yankees have never had player names appear on their jerseys.

The jerseys are not the issue. You have to change the jersey fonts for each team for the names to show up.
eriqjaffe is correct about the Yankees not wearing names on the back, and, for that matter, the Colt .45s never had names, home or away. In fact, Houston did not adopt names on the backs of its jerseys until 1971, when the Astros switched their primary color from navy to orange. I would never use names on the back for these two franchises in that era. But if you want Yankees and Colt.45s names on the back, here they are, made with eriqjaffe's wonderful OOTP Uniform Maker. I made a set for the Yankees away (left) and home (right) because as best as I can tell, they used different number fonts on the road and at home. Also did separate away (left) and home (right) for the Colt .45s. I could not find a clear photo of the back of a road jersey, but I do know Houston wore the McAuliffe number font (better known as the Red Sox font) on the road when they became the Astros in 1965 and kept that through the primary color switch from navy to orange in 1971. Save these fonts and place them in your jersey_fonts folder. Make sure you check the Show Name box, and change the Font on this screen (click photo below for better reference). Also, I highly recommend downloading the uniform maker. It is so easy to use that you can probably make 95 percent of what you need, even if you don't have a true graphic design background.
