Import Teams From FTP Server Not Working Right.

I am the commish of S3BL. When I go to the IMPORT ALL TEAMS FROM FTP SERVER in the online league options, it brings up a progress bar, imports the teams and I get no errors. BUT, when I go look at the teams, SOME, not all, don't have the changes made. The first few sims, owners were emailing me saying their changes didn't take. I then on today's sim, after doing the import all teams option, went into each teams set up page and manually clicked IMPORT TEAM FILE FROM FTP SERVER. This allowed worked and the changes were there.

Does anyone know why the import all feature wouldn't be working? I get no errors, so I assumed it was working.

It makes some changes, but not all unless I do each team individually, which I'd rather not do.

Please help as I want to increase the sim frequency, but I want to fix these issues first.

We have no problems exporting to the FTP server or importing each team... only when I import all teams do some not take.

Thanks.

Jim

This has been an issue for some commish's going back to OOTP4. I do each team manually to overcome it and to feel confident that all updates are getting into the game.

Another way to transfer them together is through an external ftp tool. Once they are all transfered over, you can import all from within the game.

Hope this helps, I had not realized it was still an issue with OOTP5 because I do it all manually. I have a small league with 16 teams so no big deal for me.

If I download all files with FTP, how do I import all at once from within the game?

I was wrong, I assumed it was there as the import all from ftp is there. Again, I do them one at a time to ensure they all get in.

Sorry for the misinformation. Would be nice to have though.

Clarifying ?

So instead of using 'Import all teams VIA FTP' from the Online league setup screen, you go into each team setup screen and "import via FTP" ?

If that's the case, the teams still export via FTP ?

Also, has anyone given any thought to deleting old team files from the FTP server right after importing ? Would that help in anyone's opinion ?

----------------------------

Anyone of the beta testers or close to the game know if this is working correctly or not ?

I've done it this way for countless seasons and have heard of it not importing only one time and that was during playoffs.

Might have cost Nashville the only ABA title they haven't won.

Yes, in the league file section, I hit IMPORT ALL TEAMS and it has the status bar and all looks good. Then I go into check a roster of a specific team and nothing changed... I know what should have changed because he emailed me. Then I went into his team set up and click IMPORT TEAM FROM FTP and itworked and the changes were there. Several teams this happened to.

As for deleting the old team files, I used to do it, but made no difference. I check the FTP server and the date shows that old ones are replaced when the new one is uploaded.

For now, I'll just import each one manually... takes alittle longer, but I know it works.
