CHL Penalty Rule Changes

What do people think of the proposed penalty rule changes
for the 23/24 Champions Hockey League?

Link: https://www.championshockeyleague.co...2023-24-season

Presumably FHM will need to incorporate these in FHM10. It would be
nice if they could also be turned on/off as options in other leagues.

Edit: the first round format has also changed (only 24 teams rather than 32), and no more group stage.
All teams play 6 games (seeded draw) and best 16 qualify for 2nd round.

If it ain't broke, dont't fix it. If I'm not mistaken penalty rules were like that in pre 60's era so there shouldn't be too much of harm.. CHL guys just try to get someone to talk about their league

Not sure about the other parts but the "penalty served no matter how many goals the power play team scores" was a NHL rule for many years abd was only changed due to Montreal scoring so many times.

The NHL changed the rule in 1955 after Jean Beliveau scored a hat-trick in 44 seconds against Boston, all on the same powerplay. I guess that rule would be popular in Edmonton at least....

Yeah, the (NHL) rules are what they are today for a reason.
