126 Game Season

Where would you set the milestone single season wins? 5 man rotation, right now it's set to always use the highest rested, but that will change according to history. Thinking the top rotation guys will start 27 to 28 games in a season. I don't want the achievements section overloaded , but I don't want it empty either. Would love to hear what y'all think.

In my fictional league SP start 22-24 games a season. I've set the milestone at 10 and the page is definitely overcrowded. Below is how the top of the list looks like after 25 seasons. Since in your league SP will make about 4-5 more starts I would say 15 is the best number. Not the prettiest milestone number, but 10 is way too few and 20 is way too much.

Thanks, I was thinking about 10, so I'm glad you posted that screenshot.

It doesn't have to go in increments of 5. Nothing wrong with an even dozen.

(I use 10 for my league which plays 108 games.)

At the halfway point in the season there are several pitchers with 9 wins, so I'm leaning 15, but I'm debating 14, 16 or 17 as well.

One option is to take what you feel are appropriate milestones for a 162-game season and multiply them by 0.778. (126/162=0.778)

Kind of depends on what year you are playing. Do starters frequently go the distance or are they pulled early, is it a high run era where there are a lot of comebacks or a low scoring era with infrequent comebacks, Isyour schedule set where all teams have the same day off so aces pitch against mostly other aces and your #4 starter pitches against #4 starters or do teams have scattered days off so your #1 starter will start some games against other teams #2, #3 or #4 starter, etc.?
I usually just backup a game after setting it up then fast sim 20 years or more to see what kind of stat output I get. Then restore my backup and set the options based on my test (fast sim) league. And then I am ready to go.

I always, always test a league this way just to make sure everything is set correctly.

In my Random 144 game 1975 League 5 man highest rested rotation. If I draft 5 rounds, then the top pitcher will usually have about 22 wins. If I draft for 6 rounds, then the top pitcher will have about 20 wins. If I draft for 7 rounds, then the top pitcher will have about 16 or 17 wins. It all depends on your setup so there is no one answer. This also applies to all the other HOF options.
