The International Journeyman

This save is a journeyman, but with a big twist. We are not able to GM any club team, instead we must only be the General Manager of a national team. I already began this save and the first team I chose was Micronesia. To win the challenge, you must win the continental tournaments for every continent. You must start off in Oceania or Africa. Their is also some regional tournaments, and a World Cup tying it all together. In my first season with Micronesia, I lost in the Oceanic Baseball Tournament Final to Guam by 10 runs because I forgot to sub out my pitcher for 2 extra innings, therefore we lost badly. I am going to continue with Micronesia till we win the Oceanic Baseball Tournament, which will qualify us for the World Cup. Anyway, We'll meet the team once we get to the second Oceanic Tournament. Here are the standings from our Oceanic Tournament performance along with the World Cup teams:

In a shocking turn, Burkina Faso end up winning the tournament, who beat out Canada 3-2 in the WBT Final. It was definitely a very interesting tournament. Here are the Group and Knockout stages of the tournament:

I'll quickly go over the other tournaments that happened before the Oceanic Baseball Tournament.

Asian Nations Cup: In Asia, Japan would end up defeating East Timor to win.

Euro Cup: In Europe, Bosnia would upset England for the championship.

North American Baseball Classic: In North America, no upset would happen in the final as the USA would win over Cuba.

In the end, we got North Korea and the Cook Islands in our group. I am confused on how North Korea accepted an invitation to join us, as they're in Asia, so someone invited them. Ok, who was bribed? Anyway, the other group ends up being Australia, New Zealand, and Samoa. I guess Guam couldn't make it in this time. Anyway, next post I will show the team for the first game against the Cook Islands.

Micronesia defeated the Cook Islands 2-0, Game MVP would go to Domenic Barlow, who plays for the Cook Islands. Not really much to say, so here's the Box Score for the game:

We ended up winning 5-3 versus North Korea. At one point, I was very worried as North Korea had tied the game at 2 runs a piece. While they did score one more, we scored 3 more and secured our spot in the Oceanic Baseball Tournament Knockout Stage. I'll announce who we take on once we get there. The winner of the other group was Australia, who will be looking for vengeance after their loss to Guam in the Semi-Finals.

We lost to Samoa 5-1, a bad loss to be sure. I'm not sure how we lost honestly. Either way, a very disappointing end to our Oceanic run. I think I might leave, honestly. But we'll have to see what happens next tournament
