I know Chuck Klein needed extra innings so I will go with Gil Hodges. Seeing as Ras is a Dodgers fan, as I am, seems like a solid guess

Gil Hodges is the correct answer...my source the "20th Century Baseball Chronicle". It has some awesome stuff.
"Gil Hodges was the first National League player in this century to hit four round-trippers in a regulation-length game (August 31, 1950). he accomplished it at Ebbets Field, which also made him the first in this century to pull off the feat at home." Nice work...I'll post some more questions.

Are you not counting those prior to 1900?
Ed Delahanty hit 4 in a 9-inning game in 1896, but Bobby Lowe did it 2 years prior in a 9-inning game. ***Edit*** My bad missed the 20th century reference, just saw 4 home runs in the national league when I made the post. Last edited by AngelinOF; 05-16-2003 at 11:15 PM. |
