Baseball Insanity

If the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again expecting different results, then this game has driven me utterly insane.

I hate this game with a passion that is unrivaled by any other video game of any genre ever! Yet, I can't stop playing it! It's baseball! No matter what I do, the results are...... pretty stupid!

Things I have learned about my team:
Pitchers:
- High movement means the ball will move off the bat to the bleachers faster!
- High stuff rating means I will probably throw stuff when I watch this guy consistently throw away games.
- High stuff also means my 70-75 defense will have trouble grabbing that ball.
- 75 Control (out of 80) means guaranteed to start every strong hitter with a 2-0 count.
- Pitch Around means throw a pitch, watch the hitter run around the bases.
- Pitch to Batter means throw a meatball.
- Pitch to Contact means consider the possibility of throwing a strike and hope for the best.
- My Closer with 90 Stuff (out of 80) and 75 Movement feels bad for the opponents when we have a lead so he uses his pitiful 55 Control to put 2 runners on before giving up hits. Clearly he's taking paychecks from at least 2 other teams.

Hitters:
- My 45 Contact 55 Power guy will consistently out perform my 70 Contact 65 Power hitter over several seasons.
- My scrubs (red contact, red power) will inevitably outperform my decent hitters (green, green) and somehow pull enough homeruns out of their butts to win a bunch of games and keep us in the fight.

My team is in first place, but once again, we seem to be on a mission to fix that problem.

What drives me insane is: if I sim the games, my team is a powerhouse. I don't know why. They are good, but built for the near future, not the current season.

But, if I play out the game...... these palookas are capable of looking like the Bad News Bears playing against the 1998 Yankees!

I can't bring myself to keep the sim results so I go back and play the game and inevitably lose night after night as we nosedive in the standings.
