Contract negotiation mistake
I had negotiated an extension with a player. I accidentally withdrew the offer, and now he won't negotiate with me. Is there a way to fix this? He is still arb eligible. I am only in August of my season so I have a while.

I did the same thing a while back but my guy came back and asked to start negotiations again. I think it took about a month though... maybe in commissioner mode you can do an edit of the player?

This is why I have auto-save set on "every day." Then you can just quit without saving and whatever just happened un-happens without affecting the stuff that happened before. I think it's cheating to do that if something just didn't work out the way you hoped, but if it's a pure case of "I didn't mean to hit that button," I think it's fine. The idea is to have a simulation of real-life baseball, and Brian Cashman doesn't have to worry about accidentally withdrawing an offer because he sneezed.

Unfortunately, if a player refuses to negotiate an extension with you in after you withdraw an offer, there is not much you can do to change their mind. Once an offer has been withdrawn, the player's morale and willingness to sign an extension may decrease, and it may be difficult to repair the relationship.
However, since you are still in August of your season, you have some time to try to improve the player's morale and relationship with your team. Overall, it may take some time and effort to repair the relationship with the player, but with the right approach, you may still be able to negotiate an extension in the future.

Really simple fix. Just go in commissioner mode and add the contract to his existing contract. So if he's still arb eligible, he's on a 1 year deal. Just extend that deal X years based on the contract you agreed on and enter the yearly salaries.

I got him back to the negotiation table and locked him up for 5 years. And he will only be 30 when the contract ends.
