Player claims they'd need to buy out their NHL contract when negotiating extension
This happens when you keep offering lower than their asking price until they're too angry to negotiate. It occurs every time.

Odd, the parameters for that response are very specific - ELC contract offer to a KHL-contracted player. Something must be defined wrong there and it's replacing the regular rejection response in some circumstances. Was he, by any chance, on loan to a KHL team from the NHL at some previous point?

Nope, just transferred from VHL. Never played in the KHL.
I see that you've put out a fix today. I just quickly tested it and it seems to be working, but for future reference it wasn't just players of Russian nationality for me. It seemed to happen for everyone (even Auston Matthews once). I'll keep an eye on it incase it pops up again, though! |
