Shifts Goalie?

New to hockey...does FHM have shifts stats?
Can someone explain how the goalie has 4 shifts?
I assume a shift is each time a player goes on ice.
So in this case the goalie comes on 4 times?
1 for each period?

The vancouver goalies and NULL value for shifts and 60 mins ice time

I wouldn't pay attention to goalie shifts. It's more of a quirk than a stat.

To understand a goalies time better you should just follow Time On Ice (TOI). In the game you linked, the LA goalie played a few seconds short of the 60:00 minute game, whilst the Vancouver goalie played the full game.

I guess shifts for goalies would incur when they leave the ice on a delayed penalty. This is when the officials have called a penalty but the offending team are yet to touch the puck to stop the game. When this happens, providing there is enough time, you will often see the goalie skate of the ice for the team who are about to go on the power play. This then allows them to get an extra skater on the ice. When the other team do touch the puck or there's a break in the game (sometimes it can be a couple of seconds sometimes it can be 30 seconds so play develops), the power play would then start, with the goalie back in net.

That is my only guess for a goalie incurring shifts. As I say, it's not a relevant stat for a goalie and you would use TOI for that sort of thing.
