Shot Charts

Does FHM include Shots charts at box score and player level like in hockey reference?

Not currently, I'd love that. Shot location data is one of my biggest wish list items. I mentioned it last year and Jeff said that with the 2D engine they do track location, so you'd hope that it's not that far away from being implemented.

Seeing as how watching the game play out in 2D given the current state of development of that engine is truly a painful experience, to say nothing as to how it adds no pertinent or particularly usable information to the player to act on.

Then if as Jeff states, the 2D engine does indeed track location I would much prefer to be able to review a particular player and/or a specific lines in-game actions via the use of heat maps instead to illustrate important game events and where they are occurring, such as shot attempts, give aways, take-aways, hits, etc.

I personally feel this would be a much better illustration of how the on-ice action has played out and would be better fit into the tactical aspects of the game that the player could use to better illustrate the effectiveness or lack thereof of a player's choices in line formation and player / line /team tactics.

Example if you could see via a heat map that a specific player or particular line is having a lot of giveaways and is frequently turning pucks over along the boards on their left side during a defensive zone exit, then you can better adjust either the players or lines tactics to address that issue. Ditto for shot attempts, take-aways, hits etc.

One QoL suggestion, if we could have a filter feature that allows one to isolate just the players on a particular line, (as you can do now by position i.e., LW, C RD etc.) so as to be able to then view their stats and advanced stats as a line on the team roster screen, that would be helpful.

Cheers!
