Fictional League-Real Players

I am new to the game, have puttered around a bit. What I was hoping to do was start a fictional league, using real players, from a variety of seasons, place on fictional teams I create. I'm thinking two sub-leagues, 8 teams in each. Also would love to include Negro League players in initial draft pool. Not looking for a career mode experience, just one season. Thoughts, advice, criticisms? Thank you in advance for your time and insights.

You can absolutely do this. It involves a series of toggles/choices during setup to insure the color bar is off, actual transactions and retirements and injuries are off, and some choices on player development and talent change randomness (the subject of several thorough threads elsewhere). I’ll defer to the experts on how to insure that the total pool of historical players is available. I have never done that. Also, you may want to have randomly generated rookies over time, if you intend to play through a number of seasons, since guys will get hurt and wear out (unless you toggle settings to prevent this).
