When will it stop?
when are they gonna realize that fans find this offensive, unneccessary and most especially a major form of segregation?
http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0513/1552951.html I'm sure most of you can come up with many other terms. We don't need a specialized system to make sure minorities are hired into high offices. If the league wants to send a memo out about considering those candidates, fine do that but do it privately. There is no need to push it forward and demand that it is done. Now Florida, with one manager in mind, is gonna be investigated b/c they feel they already found their man? Ridiculous. |

I think the whole thing is flawed. One thing, If the owner doesn't want a black guy coaching all he has to do is bring a black guy in and ask him questions and already knowing the answer. If an owner doesn't want a black guy coaching, then he shouldn't have to even interview. Yeah it is wrong, but why force it. If he doesn't want a black coach, even with this system, then it is too easy to workaround.

It wastes a team's time and forces "potential" managers to travel to meet a team when they might already know that the interview is a "meet-the-guidlines" interview.
It's unneccessary. |
