Age and Development Speed Question

I am just now getting into OOTP23 and was hoping to get some ideas for age and development speed settings for the 2022 MLB season live start. I saw some threads dated way back in April and May, but since there have been several patches since then, I figured I would ask the board for any updated info.

I know I had to do some pretty big changes on the settings for last year's version. I believe I set batter aging to 3.00 and pitchers to 1.5 because there were way too guys playing past 40.

Since “what’s right” is very subjective, I’d recommend conducting your own tests. I personally like the speed setting at default and the target age set to older.

Thanks. I was planning on doing some testing myself, I just thought I might see what others have used as a starting point. I will look into the target age setting. Since that is a new option this year, I wasn't really sure if I should touch that. I prefer to have my players mirror closer to real life, so I don't like to see a bunch of guys near 40 still playing in their prime.

If you want your world to mirror real life, I recommend you use the default settings for aging and development.

I tested those first and they started off somewhat decently. But after 5-7 seasons, I started getting about 60-70 players in the league who were 38 or older. So now I am going to test with default dev speed but 1.400 and 1.500 aging speed. Then I will see about maybe adjusting the target age option.
