Adjusting league totals has baffled me forever

I recently jumped back into the franchise and for first time I have started to work on complete fictional world. MLB just with different cities/teams/countries

Now here is something I have never understood.

How do you properly adjust league totals when you have more than 30 teams? What I did with having 16 teams is used league totals when there were 16 teams. When there were 18 same. Moved up to 30.

Now I am at point where I want to have more than 30 teams but obviously can't draw a year to do this. This was problem in earlier editions of game and still is sadly.

I have looked this up and to be honest I am dyslexic and I have a great deal of trouble understanding what I am reading. Even going slow as possible I walk away confused.

Could anyone explain to me as you would child (lol really I won't be insulted) how I can adjust my league totals for 32+? I may end up with absurd amount of teams. I have read manual and it just doesn't make sense to me.

Also side question isn't nearly as important. Does travel time actually matter? I was considering setting up true world league of the major cities of world but always been afraid do this as going from Tokyo to New York back to Tokyo within a week while playing 6 games would be rather taxing though don't know if it really matters. Also when picking said cities do I need to be aware of it's above/below sea level (Example having city in Mexico City. Is that going to be like Coors Field just much worse).

Any help greatly appreciated and again don't be fooled by my typing my reading is utterly terrible. Thank god for books on tape!

1. League totals are used to decide the probabilities of the different batting/fielding outcomes. The number of teams in the league doesn't matter. For example, you can use the league totals of the 2021 MLB season for a league of any size and for a schedule of any length. The performance of teams in any given game should be like watching an MLB game, and the total stats output in your league at the end of the season will be broadly in line with the 2021 MLB totals but scaled up/down depending on the number of games played.

2. I don't think travel distance or altitude matters at all (altitude may affect park effects if you are creating a ballpark, but I'm not sure).
