After 10 seasons, my manager keeps trying to take control of the lineups

He's the most easygoing personality and I, as GM, have been setting the lineups and rotations for years.

In the middle of the 11th season, the manager suddenly took control. I reverted to a previous save to debug and found it was always occurring on a particular day (ruling out RNG).

The only way I regain control was by firing and re-hiring the manager (in commissioner mode). Then he seemed suitably chastened. But a few months later, he started doing it again.

How can I prevent this?

In the Manager's Office, Manager's Options tab, post a screenshot of the responsibilities as currently assigned (cropping out your birthday and name - just the settings need be shown).

The ability to set lineups and pitching staff has been set to the GM since day 1. The first thing I checked was if that had been reset to the manager (it hadn't).

The issue is that the manager will now change without notice in the middle of a sim (see attached image).

Firing and re-hiring fixed it the first time, so I assumed it was related to his tenure on the team. But then it started again 2 months later. I sim in one-month chunks and sometimes the manager would flip in the middle of the month.

This is the page I was looking for. If these toggles/drop-downs are in alignment such that Do Not Disturb is off and you have control of the line-up as Manager, I'm not sure where else to look... but this is the first place to check.

If his reputation is high enough he's going to demand control of the lineup, not sure there's anything you can do other than wish him well in his future endeavors and hire somebody willing to be your yes-man.

Update for anyone interested... see attached image.

Clicking this check box in the league's global settings fixes this problem! My manager and I are once again on speaking terms.

I was able to restore from a previous beginning-of-season save, check this box, and verify the problem no longer occurs.
