New to the game

I have set up a historical baseball season for the year 1970. Is there a way that the players prior seasons(before 1970) statistics are not included for seasonal and career records?

An example is I started in 1970 and Norm Cash has the highest single season batter average in the leagues database as .361- but this occurred because Cash was a player could contained in the 1970 season; but it uses his accrual career high batting average he achieved in 1961.

Please help as I would like only my simulation seasons records to be counted.

Thank you very much for any help.

Import entire history then delete entire history. Use every button that deletes the past just be be sure. You must have one minor league level enabled.

By doing this you will have players on the free agent list who played MLB before 1970 and after 1970 but not in 1970. You can let any team sign them (be sure they are all signed by someone) or you can assign them to their proper organization which is what I do.

Thank you for your quick reply. I am completely new to the game, can you please tell me where exactly I can go to delete prior imparted seasons,

I started with the 1970 season, but all prior generated statistics are included in career totals.

Thank you again.

First picture, click the cogwheel pointed to in the first image and it will take you to the appropriate settings screen.

On the second picture the arrow points to the setting that will erase the entire existing history of the league. All stats, previous champions, league leaders, etc. It will basically be a fresh league start (statistics wise) for the league.

Also importing entire history then doing the deletes provides additional players as previously described. This is important for covering injuries.

Assume that real life a team had injuries to multiple RFs. It called up several players from AAA during the season. The game provides you with these players and in the game you're well covered for RF injuries.

But assume the real life team had no injuries at SS. The game will provide you with the starting SS and the backup. If both of them are injured you will have no qualified players for the position. The real life team didn't need them but you do.
