Ducks-Stars (or PING: LivnLegend)

Well, I'm guessing the wild celebration continued on into the early morning hours as hockey-mad Anaheim continued its march toward destiny.
I can't believe my beloved Stars lost to a team with a ****ing cartoon on their sweaters! To quote Draft Dodger: **** **** ****!

WOO HOO! The celebration went LONG into the night here in Hockeytown, USA. Lucky for us SoCals, the weather has been in down in the 60's so we were able to wear our hockey sweaters without looking like complete ******s.

Great to see that the Ducks are moving on to the next round, but I think that their Cinderella season will end there.

Vancouver is gonna knock off Minnesota in game 6 and they are going to roll all over the Ducks in the Conference final.

I would love to see the Ducks win the Cup, but it just isn't gonna happen this year.

I could have predicted this response. LL, until the fine people of Orange County band together and paint "Hockeytown" on the ice at The Pond, I'm afraid you'll never really live in "Hockeytown."

OK, I'll amend our nickname from Hockeytown to HOCKEY TOWN. See, there's a space there. No fear of being called a copycat by those Detroit sissies who I will remind you were dispatched from the playoffs by us!! Besides, I am not sure people in Detroit know as much about hockey as us folks here in SoCal. I mean, isn't that the place where they throw an octopus on the ice? What does an octopus have to do with hockey? It's all about the DUCK, man!

Man, you guys in SoCal have it all going for you! First, the Giants and the Dodgers won the WS in 2002, then the Raiders won the Super Bowl. Now, the Ducks are on their way to winning the Stanley Cup. If only the Lakers can get passed San Antonio. You guys would have all of the trophies down there. Damn, must be nice being from SoCal.

You are right, Matt. Forget the 'Hockey Town' label, we are TITLE TOWN!!

Angels won the World Series, Sparks won the WNBA whatvertheycalltheirtitle, the Galaxy won the World Cup, the Raiders (still SoCal at heart) always win the Super Bowl, USC won the Orange Bowl (and Heisman!) and soon the Lakers will go QUATROW, the Ducks will win the Stan Lee Trophy and the Dodgers will win the World Series!

Los Angeles is TITLE TOWN©

LL - your Ducks posts are the funniest thing I've read on the boards for some time. They are truly "T.J. Simers-worthy."

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

You may get some disagreements on that.

Well, we all know Montréal is the biggest city of hockey... and as much as I hate the Leafs, Toronto is probably the 2nd.

No hate for Wings fan, I actually like the Wings.

T.J. Simers = idotic writer, although I think he's pretty good when he wants to be. He surprises me constantly on "around the horn"

T. J. Simers = the funniest sportswriter around, as well as the best in this part of the country.

I think Bill Simmons might have a beef with that sentiment, although technically he's not a "sportswriter" by trade anymore.

Maybe they should add ", USA" to the end of Hockeytown... But it still wouldn't be any less stupid.
