International FA Problem

Hi all, i have now played 4 years (standard MLB game) and every year the international FA class has really good hitters and no pitchers over 2 starts. Is this a bug?

This has been an ongoing thing where there will only be a pitcher in the top IFA prospects every few years. It kinda matches up with reality where the top July 2 guys are almost all hitters. I think that is because of the inherent volatility of young pitching relative to hitting. Similarly there are a lot fewer first round high school pitchers compared to high school hitters in the draft IRL.

Some of the lower rated pitchers will develop into better prospects, but it is very rare for the top IFA prospect to be a pitcher. Most will add velocity as they age, which will increase their stuff potential, but the risk with young pitching is huge, which suppresses their overall potential.

Maybe there should be a greater percentage of the IFA pool that is pitchers though, since it seems like it is usually less than 20% pitchers and maybe that should be more in the 30-40% range, but I haven't looked into it that closely.

The IFA pool does a good job representing real life. Usually there are only a couple of pitchers 2 to 5 in the top 30 of the group that the FA pool represents.

Yes, it's a bug. If you look at the IAFA pitchers, I bet none of them have good stuff potential even if their movement and control potential are good, right? There was a bug causing pitchers to be generated with bad stuff. That part was fixed, but the bug is still causing them to be scouted as having bad stuff potential. We're waiting for a fix.

EDIT: Looks like there was a new beta patch released today, that might be the fix you're looking for. Best of luck.
