Does size matter?
Has anyone noticed whether height and weight affect player development at all? For example, is a 6'5" 220 pound starting pitcher more likely to develop than a 5'9" 165 pounder?
Or is it just window dressing? |

It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it.
Seriously I don't think it matters.

Yep, it's just there for show. That's why there are so many power hitters that are 5'8" and 150#. hehe

Amazingly enough, Gaedel died from a heart attack following a mugging.

This is kind of strange. I came back in to the forum, and it looked like I hadn't posted in this thread. So I click on the thread, and my post is here. But the page still lists dbacks as the last to reply and only 8 replies.

Man, "in his stance, Gaedel's strike zone measured 1-1/2 inches". I don't even know Satchel Page could throw him four pitches without walking him. I remember hearing that on occasion, Satchel would use anything he could find as a home plate - once he even used a gum wrapper, and was throwing stikes! But a freakin gum wrapper is longer than 1 1/2 inches!

It is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog.
Or something like that.

Would be cool though if we could link talents such as power and strike zone management to height and weight.

Yeah, it would be good when those are not just used as cosmetic looks.
